Rai replacement named by USPTO

Managing Intellectual Property

USPTO veteran Paul Salmon has been appointed acting administrator for external affairs to replace Arti Rai.

Rai left the Office to return to Duke University School of Law, where she previously served as Elvin R Latty professor of law.

Salmon has served with the USPTO since 1985, when he joined as an examiner in the mechanical arts. He worked with WIPO's New York Coordination Office as senior counsellor from 1998 - 2002.

He most recently worked as senior counsel in the USPTO's Office of External Affairs.
