Disagreements remain despite ACTA discussions

The tenth round of ACTA discussions concluded on Friday with seemingly little progress made

Last week's talks were hosted by the office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) in Washington DC and included a series of luncheons dubbed as "informal" by the USTR.

The luncheons were meant to facilitate interaction among stakeholders, representatives from non-governmental organisations (NGOs), business leaders and the negotiating parties. These are: the US, Australia, Canada, the European Union, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, the Republic of Korea and Switzerland.

Industry stakeholders represented at the luncheons included the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the US Chamber's Global Intellectual Property Center, Copyright Alliance, Google, AT&T, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), Verizon, Consumer Electronics Association, INTA and the Computer & Communications Industry Association, among others.
