Vertical Integration interim report: a round-up

The comment period on the Vertical Integration interim report closed yesterday with only 17 submissions

The lack of any consensus position in the Vertical Integration Working Group’s interim report is likely to be the reason so few comments were received on such a controversial subject.

The comments received do indicate that the JN2 and RACK+ proposals retain the most support, however. JN2, which allows for 100% cross-ownership providing the registrar does not distribute the top-level domain for which it is the registry. RACJ+, which advocates allowing 15% cross-ownership, is similar to the present model.

The atoms and molecules approach

The chair of the Registry Stakeholder Group David Maher commented on the development of poll-taking to examine support for atoms and molecules of the various proposals, an attempt to find some form of consensus among the group.
