VeriSign faces competition allegations

The .com registry operator VeriSign will face an antitrust lawsuit after an appeals court in San Francisco overturned a previous decision by a lower court

On July 9 the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit reversed a previous decision by the district court in San Francisco in case brought by the so-called Coalition for Icann Transparency (CFIT) against the operator of the .com and .net top-level domains VeriSign.

The decision means that VeriSign will now have to answer the non-profit organisation CFIT's, allegations that VeriSign, in conjunction with Icann, conspired to restrain trade in .com and .net...
