Anyone registering a .ca domain must have some connection with Canada – which gives the domain a distinctly Canadian feel

How popular is the domain?

The .ca domain has over 1.4million registered domains, so the domain is reasonably popular within the country.

Who is eligible to apply for a .ca domain?

An applicant must meet what the registry calls Canadian Presence Requirements. This limits registrations to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, people indigenous to the country, organisations recognised by Canada, holders of Canadian trade marks and also Queen Elizabeth the Second and her successors.
