Managing Intellectual Property

Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal and Denton Wilde Sapte have agree to merge to create a trans-Atlantic firm called SNR Denton

The merger is the latest alliance between US- and Europe-based corporate law firms.

The announcement comes just a month after Hogan Hartson and Lovells joined to form Hogan Lovells.

SNR Denton will have 1,400 lawyers in 18 countries when it launches on September 30 this year. The largest offices will be in New York and London.

The merger was approved in partnership votes yesterday.

SNR chairman Elliott Portnoy and Denton CEO Howard Morris will be joint CEOs of the new firm.

Joseph Andrew of SNR and Martin Kitchen of Denton will be co-chairmen.

Like other international firms, SNR Denton will be structured as a Swiss Verein. This means each member firm will be a separate legal entity.
