UK watchdog publishes internet piracy plans

Ofcom, the UK communications watchdog, has issued details of how it plans to crack down on online copyright infringement

Seven of the country's largest ISPs - BT, Talk Talk, Virgin Media, Sky, Orange, O2 and Post Office - will be covered by Ofcom's new code.

The Digital Economy Act 2010, one of the final - and most controversial - pieces of legislation passed by Parliament under the last government, requires Ofcom to draw up a code of practice that sets out how it will enforce a series of anti-infringement measures contained in the law.
