EU trade mark plans attacked by users

Trade mark users’ associations in Europe have expressed "deep concern" about draft conclusions published by the EU’s Spanish presidency which aim to revise the legislation governing trade marks in Europe
In a joint paper, representatives of AIM, BusinessEurope, ECTA, INTA and MARQUES said that the conclusions threaten to undermine the study being undertaken by the Max Planck Institute (MPI) in Munich, which is due to report before the end of this year.
They said sufficient time would be needed to consider all the questions raised in the course of the study: "We therefore would like to express our deep concern at the timing of the Conclusions."
