A not so special response
The USTRs annual Special 301 report received a predictably hostile reception from some bloggers last week. Canadian academic Michael Geist is not amused by the USTR implausibly claiming that Canada is among the worst of the worst.
After citing a long list of reasons why Canada should not be on the Priority Watch List, Geist then criticises the list for being too long: According to the report, approximately 4.3 billion people live in countries without effective intellectual property protection.
