Court rules fixture lists protected by copyright

Lists of UK football fixtures can be protected as databases under copyright law, Mr Justice Floyd ruled in the England and Wales High Court last week

The dispute was between the compilers of fixture lists for football matches in England and Scotland and a number of betting companies, as well as Yahoo!, who were alleged to be using the fixtures lists without a licence.
