The Icann Board has said it will strictly enforce separation between registrars and registries in the new gTLDs, unless a workable solution is proposed within 16 weeks

The surprising decision follows a lively debate over so-called vertical integration between registries and registrars. Present agreements allow a registrar to own 15% of a registry.
