How big a threat is counterfeiting in your jurisdiction? Are there any statistics or reports on the extent of the problem? BD: The issue of counterfeiting in Poland is a serious one, since Poland is an entry point into the EU for counterfeited goods through border points on the Ukrainian, Russian and Belarus borders. Nevertheless, it appears that the number of counterfeits seized by the police and by Customs has fallen year by year for the past two years, probably due to increased intra-EU cooperation, tightened Polish border controls on the outer borders and an increased awareness about IP crimes....
