Australia and New Zealand strengthen collaboration

11 January 2010

On February 1 IP Australia and the IP office of New Zealand will begin stage three of a project to increase harmonisation of trade mark examination practices.

IP Australia says that the aim of the trial is "to identify areas where mutual recognition of examination work may be possible, where it won’t be possible, and the degree of ‘top-up’ work required in cases that could benefit from mutual recognition".

More information about the trial is available here.
