Pharma industry gets new European chief

EFPIA, the association that represents originator pharmaceutical companies in Europe, has appointed the CEO of GlaxoSmithKline as its president.

Andrew Witty took over from Arthur Higgins, CEO of Bayer HealthCare, on January 1. He was previously vice-president of the association.
