Lucasfilm loses in Star Wars sequel

Star Wars producer Lucasfilm has failed in its bid to win damages over unauthorised replicas of stormtrooper helmets made in the UK

The claim arose over plastic versions of stormtrooper helmets and other models made by Andrew Ainsworth at the request of Lucasfilm during the production of the first Star Wars film in 1976. He later made and sold copies of these helmets.

Lucasfilm first sued Ainsworth in the US for trade mark and copyright infringement. The company won a default...
