US antitrust watchdog opposes Google Book deal

The US government has urged a court in New York to reject the proposed Google Book settlement when it considers the case next month

In an amicus brief filed on Friday, the Department of Justice advised the District Court for the Southern District of New York not to accept the class action settlement in The Authors Guild Inc et al v Google Inc.
