Qualcomm under fire in Asia

South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission has fined US telecommunications company Qualcomm W260 billion ($208 million) for abusing its dominance in the local market and ordered it to stop discriminating against companies that use competing products
Qualcomms customers in Korea include mobile phone makers Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics.
The KFTC said on July 23 that the company was charging higher licensing fees for its CDMA technology to companies that use modem chips supplied by rival companies.
