Software licensees may still face fines

The UK government could allow judges to fine anyone who acquires a licence to use software only after their infringement has been discovered, under proposals published last week

In its response to a public consultation on damages, launched two years ago, the Ministry of Justice said that it is possible to acquire licences for software applications after an infringement has been discovered...
