The New York event will be held at the Hudson Theatre, Millennium Hotel, on July 13 and the London one at the Royal Institute of British Architects on July 15.
The events, which are free of charge, are open to everyone including brand owners. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
They are designed to allow interested parties to discuss solutions to issues arising from the proposed opening up of the gTLD space, including trade mark protection.
Among the topics likely to be discussed are the report of the Implementation Recommendation Team (IRT), which proposed measures to protect IP rights in the new gTLDs.
These measures include an IP clearing house, a list of globally protected famous marks, a fast-track version of the UDRP and standardised sunrise procedures.
Comments on the IRT report can be viewed online.
ICANN is pressing ahead with plans to allow anyone to apply to set up a gTLD, which could eventually lead to hundreds or thousands of TLDs being available.
It is likely that the application process will be set up by early next year.
In addition to the consultations, outreach sessions are being held in Hong Kong on July 24 and Abu Dhabi on August 4. At these sessions ICANN staff will provide information and answer questions on the new gTLD programme.
You can register for either event online.
