JPO starts two new PPHs

The Japan Patent Office (JPO) will start pilot patent prosecution highways with the Austrian Patent Office (APO) and IP Office of Singapore (IPOS) on July 1

A PPH is a bilateral mechanism that allows IP offices to share the work generated by the first patent office in which an application is filed with the second office.

IPOS and the JPO signed a statement of intent to set up a pilot programme on June 15. More information on how to use the PPH is available on the IPOS website .

The APO and JPO stated their intent to start a pilot PPH at a meeting of the heads of both patent offices on May 19. More information on this and other PPHs involving the JPO is available on the JPO website .

Both pilot programmes will last one year.
