Fröhlinger predicts deal on community patent

A single European Community patent could be implemented without all EU member states, a European Commission official said today
Speaking at the Fordham IP Conference, Margot Fröhlinger, director in the Internal Market and Services Directorate, said she remained optimistic that there could be a political deal on the patent proposal during this Commission.
But she said at least one member state would be unlikely to sign up to the deal.
