The EPO is to restrict the ability of patent applicants to file divisional applications
The Administrative Council voted to amend Rule 36 of the EPC, which governs divisionals, on March 26.
The new rule introduces a two-year time limit for filing divisionals. It comes into effect on April 1 2010, with a six-month grace period.
