The third and final section of Managing IP's largest ever survey of the leading IP law firms ranks the top copyright practices in 19 major jurisdictions worldwide. The growth of our survey in this area through the years reflects the importance of copyright protection in an evolving marketplace. As the internet becomes an ever more integral aspect of global culture, copyright becomes an increasingly muddled piece of the IP puzzle. Works that were traditionally difficult to copy or alter and distribute freely – such as TV programmes, sound recordings, movies and photographs – are suddenly at constant risk of being infringed. In the March issue of Managing IP, we explored some of the challenges faced by US media and entertainment companies in this new, digital economy.
