TomTom signs with Open Invention Network

Global positioning system maker TomTom has joined the Open Invention Network as a licensee, just days after filing a patent infringement suit against Microsoft in the Eastern District of Texas
The Open Invention Network (OIN) was formed in 2005 to enable and protect the open source operating system, Linux. To date, OIN has accumulated more than 275 patents and patent applications, which it makes available to all of its licensees royalty-free.
