“A downtime is a great time to innovate,” according to Rembert Meyer-Rochow, a senior patent attorney for Intel in Hong Kong

Speaking as part of a panel discussion at Asialaw's annual in-house counsel summit last week that looked at how to preserve your IP budget in hard times, Meyer-Rochow compared the current financial crisis to the uphill section of a cross-country race.

"During the hardest part of the race, when you are going uphill - that is when you put in the most effort. Then you get the biggest gain on the downhill stretch," he said. He added that Intel saw the financial crisis...
