Microsoft tries to bridge India’s university-industry divide

Academics and businessmen said poor collaboration between their two sectors is a serious brake on innovation in India at a seminar last Tuesday

"There is an important need for industry and academia to collaborate in India," said Rakesh Bakshi, associate general counsel at Microsoft India and one of the keynote speakers at the event, which took place at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Kharagpur, near Kolkata in India.
