INTA president urges government action on fakes

2009 International Trademark Association (INTA) president, Richard Heath, targeted legislative and enforcement-side action on counterfeiting as top priority in the fight against fakes, during a live online interview with Managing IP last Friday
Heath, who is global anti-counterfeiting counsel for Unilever, said that counterfeiting is one of the biggest challenges facing trade mark owners, especially in a poor economic climate, and dubbed fake goods "probably one of the worst forms of unfair competition".
