Managing IP presents the first part of its annual survey, ranking the leading firms for patent work in 70 jurisdictions
The 13th Managing IP survey of the leading firms practising IP is the biggest ever, listing a record number of firms in 70 jurisdictions. In this issue, we publish the tables of the top patent firms, ranked in tiers. The growth in coverage of the survey (the first one covered just 10 jurisdictions) reflects the globalisation of the economy in the past decade, and the large number of markets that are now of interest to IP owners.
This globalisation of course poses challenges for IP owners, especially when they are entering new markets or those where there are difficulties – such as unfamiliar laws, new competitors or high rates of counterfeiting. The Managing IP survey is designed to assist them in finding good advice. We do not say that rights owners should simply hire those firms recommended here. But we hope our rankings can play a part among many other...
