Hong Kong joins WIPO internet treaties

China has told WIPO that it has extended the application of the WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT) and the WIPO Phonograms and Performances Treaty (WPPT) to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

China joined both treaties in June 2007 but the Hong Kong and Macau special administrative regions did not join at that same time.

To date 67 countries have signed up to the WCT and 66 to the WPPT.
