Wragge & Co will launch a dedicated IP office in Munich later this year, as it seeks to strengthen ties with its German client base and the EPO.
The exact location and official launch date of the office will be decided in the next few weeks. The office will be the firms third outside the UK after Brussels and Hong Kong.
Former Meissner Bolte partner Michael Schneider, who previously worked at the EPO, will head up the Munich operation when he becomes the firms tenth IP partner on September 1. Jones Day senior associate Alexander Bayer has also been hired as a director.
Despite the new office, Wragge & Co will maintain its five-year association with German firm Graf von Westphalen for all other work.
