James Soong, a former partner at McDermott Will & Emery, has joined Greenberg Traurig’s IP team in Silicon Valley as a shareholder.
Soong, who joined McDermott in 2006 from Siebel Systems, where he was director of IP, will focus on patent litigation, primarily for high-tech companies. Soong’s practice also includes strategic counselling on corporate patent programmes, including portfolio development and licensing.
Soong is the firm’s second addition to its Silicon Valley IP group this year, following James Li, who joined in January from Howrey.
