The biotech industry has an inspirational story to tell. From a few sparks of inspiration between academics, through successful university spin-offs such as Genentech and Amgen, biotech has become a multi billion dollar business. And there is no doubt that innovations from this industry can help solve some of the challenges facing the planet today, such as developing renewable fuels, improving crop yields and coping with climate change.
