China reveals 2008 action plan

China’s State Intellectual Property Office has announced a series of measures the government intends to take to improve IP regulation and enforcement over the next year

The English-language summary of the 2008 IPR protection action plan states that the government plans to revise and formulate 24 laws, regulations, rules and administrative measures relating to IP and draft five judicial interpretations.

The government also plans to adopt a series of measures to enhance daily law enforcement and judicial protection.

It will also hold a series of IP awareness courses aimed at judicial staff and law workers as well as students and schoolchildren.
