California-based IP firm Knobbe Martens opened an office in Washington DC on Monday, the firms seventh office and its first outside the Golden State.
The new office will be headed by former Orange County-based partner William Zimmerman, who specializes in generic pharmaceutical litigation.
His team will include Knobbe Martens partners Joseph Re and Bill Bunker, as well as Don Min, former Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner attorney and founder of a boutique technology-focused firm.
Re has built his reputation handling high-stakes patent cases at the trial and appellate levels, while Bunker concentrates on patent prosecution for the mechanical, aerospace and medical device industries.
Don Mins practices focuses on client counselling, patent drafting and prosecution, licensing and providing patent-related opinions.
