Hong Kong legal reshuffle latest

Managing Intellectual Property

US full-service law firm Troutman Sanders has poached IP lawyer Sebastian Hughes from rival Jones Day to work in its Hong Kong office.

Hughes was an associate at Jones Day for two years but joins Troutman Sanders as a partner. He switched firms at the beginning of October, but Hong Kong’s Law Society only gave approval for him to join the partnership on November 6.

Hughes is fluent in Mandarin and his practice covers all areas of intellectual property.

In August Jones Day recruited three partners and one of counsel from Baker & McKenzie’s Hong Kong IP office.
