ITC specialist joins Covington

Karin Norton, who served as lead government counsel at the International Trade Commission (ITC) for the past eight years, has been hired as special counsel in Covington & Burling’s IP team.

Norton served as senior investigative attorney at the ITC from 1999 to 2007, and was lead government counsel in numerous patent infringement cases before the ITC. She is a former medical researcher who holds a PhD in human physiology and has expertise in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical devices.

Norton will be based in the firm’s Washington DC office.
