The web seminar will start at 12 noon EDT, 5pm GMT and will feature Edmon Chung of DotAsia Organization, which runs the new domain, and Bart Lieben of Laga, who manages the verification process.
The application process for .asia domains has already started, with governments and government-assigned bodies able to register domains from a list of reserved names from today (October 9).
Owners of registered trade marks, domain names and company names can begin to register their domain names in a series of sunrise periods starting on November 13.
The landrush phase begins in February 2008.
As with the .eu domain, applications will be verified to ensure they are based on legitimate rights.
A controversial aspect of the .asia domain is that if two applicants apply for the same domain based on the same rights, there will be an auction for the domain.
All these aspects of .asia will be discussed at next weeks web seminar, which will feature audiovisual presentations and a question-and-answer session.
