Rights owners still have much to learn
Since Managing Intellectual Property was launched 10 years ago,
the market it reports has changed almost beyond recognition. In the
past decade, rights owners have won a series of important
victories, meaning that the assets they own are more secure than at
any other time in history. International treaties, better educated
courts and customs authorities, as well as a more IP-aware attitude
at boardroom level and in government, have all combined to create a
situation where many readers of this magazine could be forgiven for
thinking they have won all the major battles.
