ECJ affirms Fortress Europe

Brand owners have welcomed a clear and decisive victory over
parallel importers in Europe. In a decision on November 20, the
European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruled that retailers who import
branded goods from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) must be
able to demonstrate clear express consent from the trade mark owner
before they can re-sell the goods.
