Brand owners reading MIP might feel that trade marks have
never been easier to obtain. Protection is now available in most
countries quickly and cost-effectively; the Madrid Protocol looks
like it will genuinely become a global system as more and more big
markets join; electronic filing is spreading and promises simpler,
more efficient registration.
